I built the original website for this client approximately 10 years ago. That project included a bespoke Content Management System written in classic ASP with a Microsoft Access database. The primary use of the CMS was to manage the tenants. It was later expanded to include the option of advertising offices available, news and a tenant skills search. Some years later the site also underwent a basic rebranding.
The new project brief was to take a design concept, improve upon it, build a W3C standards compliant website in WordPress for easy client updating, to integrated with the current bespoke Content Management System, to retain the tenant skills search and to make the website fully responsive for mobile users.
The biggest challenge was integrating WordPress, which uses mySQL as it’s database engine, with a somewhat dated Microsoft Access database for the tenants skills search. Classic ASP was retained and AJAX was used to query the database in the background, making for a much improved user experience.
