VIEWING VIDEO
Viewing Video is an online service targetted at estate agents. The project brief was to produce, from concept to completion:
A bespoke WordPress sales website.
A customer/agent sign up process.
A bespoke online system from which agents can provide the resources for each video. This would also include invoices for payments and numerous default settings for video production.
Integration with an online payment provider.
An admin system for Viewing Video staff to view new video submissions and provide details to the customer of completed videos.
Every area of the website had to be mobile friendly and as such the Bootstrap framework was used to produce a responsive website design and system.
WordPress was chosen for the sales website as the client required the ability to update and add content themselves. A bepoke theme was created and the WordPress CMS is customised using custom fields to facilitate updating.
The bespoke agent system uses a mySQL backend database with AJAX and PHP code to ‘talk’ to the database. AJAX is used to ensure and slick user experience with minimal page loading. The same applies to the admin system for staff members.
GoCardless was chosen as a payment provider, the agent system connects to the GoCardless API to process payments. The site also integrates with an API from MailChimp which is used to send out customer mailshots.
